Master Bedroom

I am working on getting the master bedroom looking great. So the next few weeks are likely to be not very exciting as it is mostly cleaning and organizing things we brought from Ohio. I did make progress this week! It doesn’t look like much. But it already feels better walking from the clean (until I start using it) craft room into the bedroom. So here is what it looks like now. I apparently forgot to take a before picture. I promise it was worse before.

The closet really shows the brunt of the work that I did. I (stupidly) thought that I had already taken a photo of the inside of this closet but I must not have. So here is what t looks like now. Eventually, we are going to take the dresser out.

A semi-side project for this week was lining some chests that were previously used for blankets at the end of the twin beds that were in the master bedroom. One migrated to the girls’ room and the other is now at the bottom of our bed. So I measured the chests, added the seam allowance, cut out the fabric, then sewed it up.

When we put the chest in the girls’ room Gwen immediately went in and put ALL of her blankets into it. We now have several boxes of donate/sell books organized into first edition copies, not first editions, and magazines. As well as a few stacks waiting to be organized.

Fun Finds

My couple of fun finds for this week are a Victorian Shaker Sewing Box which is pretty cool but also really fragile and needs some help. Notions would go in the bottom drawer and spools of thread go inside on poles and the thread comes out of the holes. And the top is a little pin cushion. The other find is a cool record to radio thingy.

This weeks side-projects made me really ant to start a new crafting something and a YouTuber that I have been following joined a group that is doing Capetember and making a cape in September. I got some really nice wool when we were in Ohio that I have been looking for a use for and I think this is it. So that is a project coming up. This is all assuming that I can find said wool. I am a little worried that it is in a random box as I got it while we were in the midst of packing. So that is a fun possible project coming up. And more cleaning up of the master bedroom of course. Oh! And here is the craft room now!
